Who’s behind Pet Primer
Pet Primer is created by Gilbert Jones. I keep dogs, and so do many of my friends. My dogs tend to stay happy and healthy, and over time people close to me started asking how I manage that. Those questions, along with the constant discussions I see on social media, made me want to build something useful for other people who keep dogs and cats.
I’m not a veterinarian
Pet Primer exists to collect and organize practical information that has been tried, observed, and researched — the kind of details that sit alongside regular veterinary care rather than replacing it. The goal is to give dog and cat owners clearer, better-organized ideas that have worked for real people, while being honest about what the evidence does and doesn’t support.
Why this exists
A lot of pet advice online is either very general or based on a single strong opinion. Friends and people in my community kept asking for specific things that actually seem to help. I decided to start documenting and researching those topics properly so the information could be useful beyond just my own circle. Pet Primer covers dogs and cats only, so every note can go deep instead of wide.
